EN S355JR High Strength Structural Steel Plate for Medium-Load Engineering Fabrication

S355JR is a high strength low alloy structural steel complying with EN 10025 standard. The figure 355 stands for minimum yield strength of 355 MPa, and JR indicates impact testing at ambient temperature. Compared with S235JR, S355JR delivers significantly higher mechanical strength and becomes a cost-efficient choice for medium-load structural components worldwide.
Thanks to balanced strength and workability, S355JR allows engineers to adopt thinner plate thicknesses under equivalent load conditions, reducing overall steel weight and logistics expenses. It maintains reliable performance during welding, hot rolling and cold forming. Standard welding methods can be applied for most structural assembly work without extra complicated technical measures.
S355JR steel plate is extensively utilised in highway bridges, industrial workshop frameworks, transport vehicle chassis, lifting equipment and mining machinery parts. It remains one of the top choices for European standard EPC projects. Our stock covers multiple thicknesses of S355JR plates, supporting bulk export orders and third-party inspection.
