API 5L X60 (L415) is a high-strength pipeline steel with a yield strength of 415 MPa, widely used in large-scale long-distance oil and gas transmission.
X60 offers high strength, excellent toughness, corrosion resistance, and crack resistance. It performs well in harsh environments including marine regions, cold climates, and corrosive soils.
Its composition adopts low-carbon microalloying with Nb, V, Ti, and sometimes Mo to enhance overall mechanical properties. These alloys provide high strength while maintaining ductility and weldability.
X60 is supplied in TMCP, controlled-rolled, or normalized conditions, with TMCP preferred for its excellent toughness and fine grain structure.
Applications include international gas pipelines, subsea pressure pipelines, LNG pipelines, refinery systems, and pipelines in corrosive areas.
